Become a Media Missionary
Learn how to use modern video production, story telling, and digital publishing to advance God’s Kingdom.
LEAD Media is an 8 month internship designed to help you grow in your relationship with God, strengthen your leadership style, and gain skills in video production to make Jesus famous around the world.
In Lead Media, you will work alongside Bethany International’s media team to mobilize missionaries and share the testimonies of what God is doing overseas.
In Lead Media, you will learn how to create effective videos from beginning to end. You will receive training on production workflows and how to use modern video production gear to tell stories.
Here is a sample of classes and training you will receive:
Your first semester will be spent going through the LEAD Core curriculum and events to grow in your relationship with God, leadership abilities, and personal evangelism skills. Your hands-on training internship component will be spent in Bethany International’s media department. You will be introduced to media concepts and work on media projects during your internship time, but most of your class time will be focused on discipleship and soft skills.
Your next semester will be dedicated completely to media. Working more hours on media projects, more focused time in classes dedicated to media and video production, and more time honing a specialty as part of the media team. It is also during this time that you will begin preparing for your capstone project on your own overseas mission trip.
Your final assignment will be to create a documentary of a short-term mission trip with Bethany Teams. It requires the use of all you have learned throughout the year to create this one video to highlight what God is doing on the mission field. For this trip, there will be two options: 1. You go as a group with the media director and work as a team or 2. You go solo on any of the summer Bethany Teams mission trips as a lone videographer.
God has given believers the responsibility of spreading the Gospel to all the world, and we need to use all at our disposal to accomplish this task.”
